Whats in my garden

Hi there

Well it seems to have been sometime since I last wrote a post about
what I am up too

Before the rain came today I was out in the garden picking my veg.

First a photo of the greenhouse with tomatoes

A box of picked veg

NOW what to do with all those beans

The same as I did yesterday make Bean Chutney

so here if you are interested is the recipe

1 kilo Green beans
4 shallots ( I use onions - say 2 whole onions)
1 clove garlic (if you dont like it leave it out)
1 teaspoon root ginger
675 grams dark brown sugar ( or use what you have)
1 tablespoon tumeric
1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard ( I use English as I have that in the store cupboard)
1.5 tablespoon Cornflour
850 ml Vinager

Easy

Cook beans and onions / shallots together till tender

Drain - Course chop

Add back to pan beans, garlic, ginger, sugar 700 ml vinegar

Boil for 15 mins

Mix rest of vinegar with tumeric, mustard, cornflour

Pour mix into beans

Stir and boil for 15 mins

Cool and then put in jars.

this makes around 5   1lb jars of chutney  and lasts ages. In fact it gets better with age.

So if you have too many beans it is a good way to use them up. I tried to sell bags of
beans at the Village Hall coffee morning this week but no one wanted them. Their loss my gain.

I have had so many beans I am over run with them.

And Marrows too. But those will be used next to make Marrow Jam.

Anyway I hope you are having a good day and I will be back again soon.

Busy with needlework, sewing and card making.

I have just found a new needlework hobby Redwork - I am finding it so
relaxing to do in the evenings or watching TV.

Hope to show you something soon.

So always busy

Back to school - too early

Hi there

Thank you for popping in to see me today.

Have to say that I have been so busy making some clothes that I have not
been around to post my cards.

That has been happening in the background.

It was my Grand-daughters birthday this month - 20 years old

WHERE does the time go.

Anyway here is my card for the mid month inspriation
over at LTSCB

I hope you like it

I have used my alcohol pens to colour in and used distress inks for the back ground

Mounted onto black card and onto a green card blank.

Its a bit difficult to see the names I have spotted 2 so far.

Think it may be a nice card for my Grandson who is 7 next month.

Hope to see you over at Love to Scrap Challenge Blog

Have a good day

People will forget

HI there

Thank you for joining me today to see what I am up too

Here is my card which I have made for the challenge over at

Love to Craft Challenge Blog as a Design Team member.

I really enjoyed making this card starting with a blank white bit of card.

I will show you via photos on the steps to make this card

The reflection in the "water" has been done by using a Gelli plate.

I have used Clarity Stamps and brushes to make this card with distress inks.

Well I hope I have given you some encouragement to join us over
on the blog and I look forward to seeing your entries.

Bye for now

sewing revolution

Good morning all

Well I have been more involved with sewing over the last few weeks,
I have been so inspired with materials that I have been making
bags and zip bags and this week my first item of clothing

It has been many many years since I made something and although it
may not be totally right.

I am pleased with it.

While in the making Den thought it was an apron due to the pockets, so I said I need something
for my tissues.

Well it is a tunic. It needs a bit of tweaking today the ties are a bit high for me.

Going to try making a top today, but think the pattern is a bit big -
so not sure if it will be ok.... make and then adjust maybe.

I have the problem of big boobs and big hips (at the moment) although I am very pleased
to say I have lost a stone in weight

So here is the photo of the tunic

Well best be going I have added my photo to Jeniffer Taylor's Facebook site under the
#sewingrevolution

Have a great day

Gillyflowers

Hi there

Well thought I would just pop in this morning with my card for the latest challenge
over at

My plan was to go out into the garden to pick the blackcurrants but it is raining
again. But today I really must pick them and not have the problem I had the other day

The blackbirds ate all my gooseberries during the rain !!!

Well here is my card

I have used Serif programme to make this card topper.

Printed it off on our new printer and mat and layered onto a card blank.

I hope you like it I have used the name of gillyflowers for this picture trying to
create a flower meadow with apricot colour flowers

Have a good day and catch up again soon

Busy doing the garden picking the fruit and getting into my sewing

Here is my card for this months Challenge over at

I have used Limited Run - Goldfish image

The fish I have printed on special paper and flipped a set of the images to make them
swim the other way.

I have used the background which I have made using a stencil, grunge paste and miro beads

Then used a bit of material from my latest "bargain Bag" and made the seaweed.

Then spent bit of time using my alcohol pens to colour in, cut out and then
construct the picture.
